You will serve as a dedicated journalist for the US airline sector, tasked with breaking news and delivering exclusive reporting on the industry. Your work will drive sharp analysis and enterprise-level coverage on critical topics including airline strategy, competition, fleet developments, networks, sustainability, regulation, and financial performance.
In this position, you will cover key industry events, earnings releases, leadership changes, and operational developments. You will contribute to both digital-first coverage and longer-form editorial projects, ensuring a comprehensive narrative for our audience.
The role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with airline executives, analysts, regulators, unions, airports, and other industry stakeholders. You will represent FlightGlobal at industry conferences, media briefings, and events, acting as a visible voice for the publication.
You will work closely with the Global Airlines Editor and the wider transport and aerospace editorial teams. Collaboration is central to this role, involving work across digital, magazine, multimedia, and special editorial projects. You will also support coverage priorities for Airline Business Magazine where required, developing a deep understanding of the commercial aviation landscape and emerging trends.
Additionally, you will support the airlines team's data-driven journalism and market analysis projects. This includes working with editors and analysts to interpret operational, financial, and network data, as well as contributing research and editorial support for the Airline Strategy Awards coverage and related initiatives.
