About the Role
As an Alterations Specialist at David's Bridal, you are the technical heart of our customer's special day. You will report directly to the Store Manager and serve as a vital member of the store team, embodying the brand's values of friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise. Your primary mission is to ensure every garment is perfected for the customer's event, delivering a five-star experience that builds long-term loyalty.
In this role, you will manage the entire alterations journey, from the initial greeting to the final delivery. You will guide customers through fittings, consult on gown fit and customization, and promote personalization options to help them achieve their vision. Whether handling complex sewing, steaming, pressing, or spot cleaning, you will maintain the highest quality control standards, ensuring every piece is pristine before it returns to the customer.
Beyond the alterations room, you will be a key partner in the store's success. You will greet and escort customers to appointments, assist stylists in closing sales by providing fit expertise, and resolve any service issues with confidence and empathy. Your ability to communicate clearly, adapt your style to suit different customers, and manage multiple needs simultaneously is essential to creating a flawless shopping experience.
Hiring Process
Candidates with a passion for bridal fashion and technical sewing skills are encouraged to apply. Please note that prior sewing experience, preferably in a bridal or special occasion environment, is required. We look for individuals who can demonstrate manual dexterity, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years of retail experience in apparel or specialty stores.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circlePromote alteration services and personalization options to customers in partnership with the alterations team

- check_circleSupport cash wrap behaviors and process transactions with accuracy to celebrate every customer
- check_circleMaintain the alterations room to ensure it is consistently clean and well-organized
- check_circleMaintain inventory management by processing special orders and pickups while ensuring first quality standards
- check_circleWelcome customers via phone, virtual chats, and in person while resolving conflicts and adapting communication style
- check_circleManage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent degree
- verified1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment
- verifiedPrior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal and/or special occasion production environment
Nice to Have
Prior sewing experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment. Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system.
