As a Mammographer, you will perform imaging examinations for patients across the entire lifespan, from newborns to the geriatric population. Your primary mission is to contribute to the efficient operations of the imaging department while ensuring the highest quality and continuity of patient care. This role requires you to leverage specific training in imaging modalities to provide excellent, compassionate care, often acting as a critical liaison between patients, radiologists, and attending physicians.
In this position, you will not only execute imaging procedures but also play a vital role in patient safety and education. You will corroborate clinical history with procedures, assess patient conditions, and determine the possibility of pregnancy to ensure safe protocols. Your day-to-day involves preparing patients for procedures, providing clear instructions to minimize anxiety, and utilizing aseptic surgical techniques when assisting providers. You will also be responsible for evaluating image quality, performing quality assurance and control duties, and initiating basic life support actions when necessary.
Beyond technical proficiency, this role emphasizes collaboration and mentorship. You will work considerately with staff, respecting their strengths and supporting their efforts to provide superior care. You may also participate in the orientation and training of new employees and other healthcare professionals, helping to maintain the department's high standards.
