Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots a unique opportunity to combine their aviation expertise with law enforcement in a career that is both exciting and rewarding.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations. You will be part of a security-based team where your daily mission involves conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your role requires monitoring suspect behavior, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This is a full-time position designed for seasoned pilots and those with military training who are ready to make a significant impact on national security.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for these opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository. Select the "Contact a Recruiter" button, choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest, and complete the pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Location: A duty location will be offered after successfully completing a three-part assessment. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select, including the Southeast Region (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest Region (AZ, CA, TX), or NASOC UAS locations (AZ, TX). The final offer letter may include any geographic location within these regions based on operational and mission requirements.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. As a federal law enforcement agency, we are committed to maintaining a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. Veterans' preference eligibility applies to those entitled under 5 U.S.C. 3312, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans or those with prior creditable law enforcement service.
