Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in law enforcement where your aviation expertise directly supports national security. You will perform aviation-based operations, conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled goods via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day involves monitoring suspect behavior patterns, analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
This role offers the stability of federal employment with the excitement of a dynamic mission. We are actively seeking seasoned pilots and those with military training to join our ranks. If you are looking for a career that combines your passion for flying with a commitment to public service, this is your opportunity to make a move.
The application process is streamlined but rigorous. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository. Select the Contact a Recruiter button, choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest, and complete the pre-screening questions. You will receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment & Placement: Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment. A duty location will be offered after this assessment. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select, which may include the Southeast Region, Southwest Region, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) UAS locations.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility applies in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may be available for veterans or those with prior creditable law enforcement service.
