Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role is designed for skilled pilots seeking to apply their expertise in a high-stakes environment where your decisions directly impact national security. You will partner with a diverse team to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities against smuggled goods via land, air, or sea. Your day-to-day involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting critical search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
We are actively recruiting seasoned pilots and those with military training to fill these full-time, security-based positions. If you are looking for job stability, exceptional federal benefits, and the opportunity to serve with a purpose-driven team, this is your moment to make your move.
The application process is streamlined but rigorous, designed to identify the most qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment & Placement: Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment. Following this, a duty location will be offered based on operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations).
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. As a federal law enforcement agency, we adhere to strict citizenship and residency requirements, and we welcome veterans who are eligible for preference eligibility under 5 U.S.C. 3312.
