About the Role
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations to secure the nation's borders. This is a full-time, security-based position where you will conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day work involves monitoring suspect behavior, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. You will operate in diverse environments, including night flights, poor weather, and low-altitude operations, making rapid, judicious decisions to ensure mission success.

To qualify for the Air Interdiction Agent - Elite Pilot Opportunities at U.S. Customs and Border Protection position, applicants should have: U.S. Citizenship; Primary U.S. residency for at least 3 of the last 5 years; Maximum age 40 (or 37 without waiver) for original appointment; FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with specific ratings; FAA Class 2 medical (or Class 1/Military) dated within last 12 months; and 1,500 total flight hours (waiver to 1,000 possible).
