As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots who want to apply their skills in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit missions to intercept smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will monitor suspect behavior patterns, analyze strategic and tactical intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
This is a full-time, security-based position offering exceptional federal benefits, job stability, and a streamlined application process. We actively seek seasoned pilots and those with military training to join our ranks. While duty locations are determined by operational and mission requirements, you must be willing to work at any location within the selected region, including the Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) UAS locations.
The recruitment process for Air Interdiction Agents is rigorous and structured to ensure the highest standards of safety and capability. There are three primary ways to apply:
Candidates who apply with fewer than 1,500 flight hours may be required to obtain additional hours at their own expense before attending the assessment. Successful candidates will undergo a three-part assessment. Upon completion, a duty location will be offered from the available regions. New hires are also required to successfully complete the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC) as a condition of employment.
