Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Defined by their camaraderie, pride, and purpose, the team executes a critical daily mission to secure the nation's borders.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role exists to detect, prevent, and apprehend terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. You will operate as part of a security-based team, conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities against smuggled goods moving via land, air, or sea. The position involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. Seasoned pilots and those with military training are particularly in demand to help fulfill this vital mission.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the "Contact a Recruiter" button. Choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest to complete pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates regarding webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Location: Upon successful completion of a three-part assessment, a duty location will be offered. Candidates must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, CAMB, or NASOC UAS locations) based on operational and mission requirements.
We are an equal opportunity employer and consider qualified applicants regardless of background. We actively encourage applications from veterans; veterans' preference eligibility may affect age requirements for original appointment. The agency is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
