Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots who are ready to transition into a rewarding federal career where their skills directly impact border security. You will conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring suspect behavior patterns, analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
This is a full-time, security-based position offering exceptional job stability and the chance to work with a mission-driven team. While duty locations are assigned based on operational and mission requirements, you will be part of a flexible workforce capable of operating across the Southeast, Southwest, and Caribbean regions, as well as at National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC).
The application process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous, designed to identify the most qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply:
Candidates who apply with fewer than 1,500 flight hours may need to obtain additional hours at their own expense before attending the assessment. Successful applicants will complete a three-part assessment, after which a duty location will be offered. The final offer letter will specify a geographic location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations).
