Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement culture where daily operations are driven by a critical national security mandate.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a skilled pilot performing aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career with exceptional federal benefits and job stability. You will partner with ground assets to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day involves monitoring suspect behavior patterns, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This is a full-time, security-based position where your expertise directly impacts the safety of the nation's borders.
The application process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous, designed to identify the most qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply: submit the applicant checklist and resume via email to a recruiter, apply through USAJOBS, or apply through Airline Apps.
Selected candidates must successfully complete a three-part assessment to secure a duty location. Upon selection, new hires are required to complete the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC). Successful completion of FLETC and a one-year service agreement may make you eligible for a one-time recruitment incentive. We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository to stay updated on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for those with creditable law enforcement service or veterans' preference status.
