Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Camaraderie, pride, and purpose are hallmarks of our daily mission. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with a critical national security mandate.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a key member of a security-based team performing aviation-based law enforcement operations. Your primary mission is the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, weapons, contraband, and persons attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States.
This role is designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career with exceptional federal benefits and job stability. You will conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Beyond interdiction, you will monitor suspect behavior patterns, analyze strategic and tactical intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. The position demands rapid decision-making and the ability to operate in diverse environments, including night, poor weather, and low-altitude flight.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest, then complete the pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment & Location: Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment. Duty locations are assigned based on operational and mission requirements after the assessment. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select, including the Southeast Region (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest Region (AZ, CA, TX), or NASOC UAS locations (AZ, TX).
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans and those with prior federal law enforcement service. We welcome skilled pilots and those with military training to join our mission-driven team.
