Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role is critical to the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. You will work alongside a skilled team to conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled goods via land, air, and sea. The position also involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.

The application process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous. There are three primary ways to apply:
Candidates who are not currently serving in a federal civilian law enforcement position must be U.S. citizens and meet specific residency requirements. A three-part assessment is required to determine final placement. Upon successful completion of the assessment, a duty location will be offered. This location will be within the region selected (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations) and is determined by operational and mission requirements.
New hires may be eligible for a one-time Recruitment Incentive of $10,000 upon completing the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC), subject to a one-year service agreement. Eligibility is determined by Human Resources.
