About the Role
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role is designed for skilled pilots seeking to apply their expertise in a high-stakes environment. You will partner with a diverse team to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land, air, and sea. Your day-to-day work involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting critical search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.

Location and Assignment
Duty locations are determined by operational requirements, mission needs, and critical agency hiring needs. Successful candidates must be willing to work at any duty location within the region they select. Assignments may include:
- Southeast Region: Homestead, FL and CAMB (Aguadilla, PR).
- Southwest Region: Tucson and Yuma, AZ; San Diego, CA; El Paso, Laredo, and McAllen, TX.
- NASOC UAS Locations: Sierra Vista, AZ; San Angelo, TX.
A specific duty location will be offered after successfully completing a three-part assessment. The final offer letter may include any geographic location within the Southwest Border Region, Southeast Border Region, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) locations.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: U.S. Citizen; Primary U.S. residency for 3 of last 5 years; Age 40 or younger (or veterans preference eligible); FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with specific ratings; FAA Class 2 medical within 12 months; and 1500 total flight hours (waiver to 1000 possible).
