Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. The culture is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose, offering skilled pilots an opportunity to serve in a law enforcement capacity alongside a mission-driven group.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career focused on aviation-based law enforcement operations. Your primary mission is the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This role involves conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled goods via land, air, or sea. You will monitor suspect behaviors, analyze strategic and tactical intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. AMO actively seeks seasoned pilots and those with military training to fill these full-time security-based positions.
There are three ways to apply to become an Air Interdiction Agent:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest, then complete the pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates regarding webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Placement: A duty location is offered after successfully completing a three-part assessment. Locations are determined by operational and mission requirements within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations). You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select.
We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. As a federal law enforcement position within the Department of Homeland Security, this role adheres to specific citizenship, residency, and age requirements to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the mission.
