Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Camaraderie, pride, and purpose are hallmarks of our daily mission. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with a critical national security mandate.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a frontline defender, performing aviation-based law enforcement operations to detect, prevent, and apprehend terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This is a dynamic, security-based role where you will conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled goods via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day work involves monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
AMO is actively recruiting for full-time positions with a streamlined application process. We are particularly seeking seasoned pilots and those with military training to join our ranks.
There are three primary ways to apply to become an Air Interdiction Agent:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository by selecting the Contact a Recruiter button. Choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest to complete pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment & Location: Upon successful completion of a three-part assessment, a duty location will be offered. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region (Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch, or NASOC UAS locations) based on operational and mission requirements.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for those with creditable law enforcement service or veterans' preference status.
