Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement career that combines aviation expertise with national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a skilled pilot performing aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career with exceptional federal benefits and job stability. You will work alongside a team where your daily mission involves conducting air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities to interdict smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring the behavior patterns of suspect persons and vessels, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. Whether operating in the Southeast, Southwest, or Caribbean regions, you will be part of a dynamic force ensuring the safety of our borders.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository. Select the Contact a Recruiter button, choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest, and complete the pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment & Placement: Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment. A duty location will be offered after this process. You must be willing to work at any duty location within the region you select, including the Southeast Region (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest Region (AZ, CA, TX), or NASOC UAS locations (Sierra Vista, AZ; San Angelo, TX).
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific age waivers may apply for veterans or those with prior federal law enforcement service. Our culture is built on the hallmarks of our daily mission: a strong sense of purpose and the pride of serving as the first line of defense for the nation.
