Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will join a rewarding career in aviation-based law enforcement. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with a skilled team of pilots and professionals in a high-stakes environment where your expertise directly impacts national security. You will perform critical duties including air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities to intercept smuggled contraband via land, air, or sea. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve monitoring suspect behavior, analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts.
AMO is actively recruiting seasoned pilots and those with military training to fill these full-time security-based positions. Whether you are looking for job stability, exceptional federal benefits, or an exciting new chapter in your career, this is your chance to make a move with an elite agency.
The application process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous. There are three primary ways to apply:

Successful candidates will complete a three-part assessment before receiving a final offer letter. Duty locations are assigned based on operational and mission requirements, and candidates must be willing to work at any location within their selected region (Southeast, Southwest, or NASOC UAS locations).
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
Age & Veterans: While the standard maximum age for initial appointment to a primary law enforcement officer within DHS is 37, the Commissioner of CBP has approved a temporary increase to age 40 for Air Interdiction Agents. Veterans' preference eligibility under 5 U.S.C. 3312 may also affect age requirements. Proof of Veteran's Preference (DD-214 Member 4 Copy) must be submitted at the time of application.
Training: Successful completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy (FLETC) and other required training courses is a condition of employment. Failure to complete these requirements may result in separation or reassignment.
