As an Air Cargo Worker (WG-5201-8) with the Nebraska Air National Guard, you serve as a critical technical expert and operational leader within the Wing's deployment functions. This full-time Title 32 position is designed to ensure the effective and efficient movement of personnel and cargo via air transport. You will act as the Wing Commander's focal point for orchestrating daily and long-range air terminal utilization, bridging the gap between strategic mission objectives and tactical execution.
Your day involves formulating and implementing training programs for Wing augmentation, covering everything from Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operation to hazardous cargo safety. You will provide high-level technical advice to Squadron, Group, and Wing commanders, conducting briefings on explosive, ground, and flight line safety. Additionally, you will manage data systems to provide In-Transit Visibility (ITV) for commanders at all levels, ensuring seamless integration of Department of Defense transportation information worldwide.
This role requires you to be the guardian of air terminal safety and security. You will analyze operational plans, interpret complex regulations from the FAA, TSA, and ICAO, and develop policies that maximize the safety of aircraft, aircrew, and cargo. Whether coordinating Opportune Airlift missions or managing the logistics of wartime operations and natural disaster responses, your work ensures that the Wing remains ready to deploy at a moment's notice.
