About the Role

The AI Platform Engineer is a critical driver of Mortenson's 2026 priorities: AI readiness, governed delivery, and enterprise-scale adoption. This role designs, builds, and maintains the infrastructure that powers our AI solutions, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms that enable rapid experimentation and reliable model deployment.

You will partner with AI Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Data Scientists, and Operations teams to enable efficient workflows. Your work will directly support the integration of AI into Mortenson's enterprise systems, specifically within our Microsoft Fabric-based data mesh. By establishing robust observability and maintaining 99.9% uptime for critical AI services, you will ensure that our technical foundation supports the future of construction technology.

Requirements

verifiedBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
verified3+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, and/or AI/ML infrastructure roles
verifiedHands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
verifiedHands-on experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
verifiedHands-on experience with CI/CD tools
verifiedStrong understanding of MLOps practices
verifiedStrong understanding of distributed systems
verifiedMust be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice to Have

Experience in AEC/construction technology environments. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and enterprise data integration. Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and security best practices.
