You will work independently with mentoring and coaching, establishing client relationships and providing exceptional service in your community.
Investment and Requirements
To launch your independent business, a minimum capital investment of $100,000 is required. Candidates must successfully pass a criminal and credit background check. Prior to appointment, you must obtain Property, Casualty, Life, and Health licenses. Additionally, you will need to secure a branded office location that is fully equipped and compliant with Farmers brand standards within four months of full-time appointment. At the time of full-time appointment, the agency must include a minimum of two licensed and appointed staff members.
Training and Development
New Agency Owners will participate in a comprehensive training program through the University of Farmers®. This ensures you are equipped with the necessary skills to sell and solicit Farmers products, educate clients on insurance, and market effectively within your community.
Compensation and Growth
As an Agency Owner, you gain economic interest in your contract value according to the terms of the appointment agreement, with the opportunity to sell service and commission rights. The program includes an Agency Start-Up Bonus of $5,000 for establishing a branded office location within a specified time period. Ongoing incentives include a Monthly Marketing Bonus of $500 (if qualification goals are met) and performance-based bonuses tied to net new business commissions for up to three years. These bonuses apply to Life and Commercial commissions, subject to specified maximum amounts.

You must be proficient in multi-tasking, follow-through, and follow-up, with strong negotiation and communication skills. Agents are eligible to participate in the Farmers Insurance Group benefits package, which includes health care plans, life insurance, and further training and development opportunities.
