The Department of MICU/SICU at the UTower is dedicated to the continuous development and ongoing clinical management of patients within the UHealth system. We focus on patients, physicians, and employees as our customers, carrying out the Mission, Goals, and Objectives of University of Miami Hospital.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our SICU team. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a high-acuity environment and is committed to the direct and indirect care of assigned patients. You will function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physicals, formulate comprehensive plans of care, and evaluate patient responses to treatment.

In this position, you will supervise assigned personnel and report to the medical director and nursing director. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing complete physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing appropriate treatment modalities. You will play a critical role in facilitating patient transitions between care settings and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care. This role requires a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining physiologic stability for our patients.
