Baylor Scott & White Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, dedicated to promoting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Our mission is to empower you to live well through a culture rooted in our core values: serving faithfully with a joyful heart, never settling as we strive for better, supporting one another in our shared journey, and making an impact through initiative and exceptional experiences.
This position offers a unique leadership opportunity within the Primary Care & Urgent Care Advanced Practice Professional (APP) operations in the Greater Austin Region. It is designed for a clinician who wishes to blend patient care with administrative oversight, operating on a 0.6 FTE clinical and 0.4 FTE administrative split.
In this role, you will lead APPs to ensure they perform their duties effectively while collaborating with Human Resources, medical staff appointments, and clinic administration to develop and implement regional policies. You will serve as a mentor and committee representative, coordinating educational programs and selecting APP representatives. The role includes designated administrative time (up to 60%) to focus on workflow optimization, quality assurance initiatives, and program development.
You will work within an Enhanced Care Team (ECT) model, supported by dedicated staff and a shared in-basket system. This structure allows for a manageable patient volume (approximately 14 patients per day), enabling you to maintain high-quality clinical care while driving operational improvements. You will partner with established physician leadership and an APP Administrator mentor to guide team-based care delivery and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Candidates will undergo a structured onboarding process that includes mentorship from the current APP Administrator. The role requires proficiency in outpatient Electronic Health Records (EPIC), with training provided as necessary. Moonlighting opportunities are available for those interested in expanding their clinical hours.
We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Baylor Scott & White Health is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every team member can thrive.
