About the Role
Our client, a leading defense contractor, is seeking an Advanced Machinist Technician for their Scottsdale, AZ facility. This 2nd Shift position is critical to maintaining precision manufacturing capabilities for top-secret technologies. You will be part of a team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what's next, where the work you do often involves classified information and cutting-edge innovation.
In this role, you will utilize your mechanical aptitude to transform basic drawings, process sheets, and sketches into precision metal components. Your day will involve operating a wide array of machinery, including lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, and profile machines. You will be responsible for setting up equipment, making precise adjustments, and performing maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Quality is paramount; you will verify work using prescribed gauges, jigs, and fixtures to measure close tolerances while monitoring processes in accordance with statistical control procedures.
Beyond technical execution, you will interface with department employees and managers, working under general supervision for routine tasks while receiving detailed instructions for new activities or special assignments.
