The North Central College English Language Institute (ELI) is dedicated to supporting multilingual students through a comprehensive Intensive English Program. As a part-time instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the language proficiency of our students. You will teach a variety of academic English topics, including Reading & Vocabulary, Writing & Grammar, Listening and Speaking, and Cultural Topics. This position requires more than just delivering lectures; it demands a deep understanding of needs assessments and the agility to adapt curriculum effectively to serve students at different levels.
You will report directly to the ELI Director and work within a high-volume, fast-paced environment where teamwork and cooperation are essential. Success in this role hinges on your ability to balance persistence with patience, ensuring that every student receives the personalized attention they need to succeed. You will be responsible for preparing and teaching assigned courses, maintaining accurate records of attendance and syllabi, and engaging with students through office hours and orientation sessions.
