About the Role

This position serves as a vital link in patient recovery, evaluating, planning, and directing occupational therapy modalities prescribed by licensed physicians. The primary mission is to assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, empowering them to live within the limits of their capabilities. Beyond direct clinical care, the role actively participates in the operational aspects of the department, maintaining performance improvement activities and engaging in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives to ensure high standards of care.

The role requires a high degree of flexibility and collaboration. Therapists work within a dynamic environment, accepting changes in schedules and assignments while setting priorities to handle unscheduled situations effectively. A key component of the day-to-day responsibilities involves fostering an interdisciplinary approach; therapists regularly participate in team meetings, discharge planning, and patient conferences to ensure comprehensive care. For those functioning in a CCS-designated NICU, the role includes supervising services provided by non-paneled personnel and making recommendations for appropriate outpatient services upon physician order.

Hiring Process & Application

Candidates must hold a valid California Occupational Therapist license and AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional certification. For therapists functioning in a CCS-designated NICU, CCS paneling is required within six months of hire. Preferred candidates will be graduates of an approved school of Occupational Therapy or an accredited college with a relevant certificate, possessing experience in all aspects of occupational therapy.
