The Activities Assistant serves as a vital partner to the Director of Activities, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients in a post-acute care setting. This position exists to ensure that the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of every patient are met with care and professionalism.
In this role, you will plan, organize, and direct a diverse range of quality activity programs, including entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education. Your day involves more than just leading group events; you will make regular in-room visits to patients who are unable or uninterested in participating in group activities, ensuring no one feels isolated. You will also escort patients to and from activities and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to support patient well-being.
Success in this position requires the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, while strictly adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. You will be responsible for charting patient progress and behavior descriptively and assisting in emergency evacuations when necessary.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record to fulfill the duties of this position. Weekend availability is required to support the facility's operational needs.
