Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Acoustic Analyst (Level 3 or 4) to support the development and ongoing support of world-class US Navy machinery, including turbines, generators, motors, and other system components based out of Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will use classical analysis techniques to establish an understanding of machinery acoustic performance and resolve issues. You will develop component and system-level predictive and simulation models, performing modal, vibration, direct frequency response, and sound transmission analyses to predict performance.
You will gather data from tests, analyze results, and correlate model predictions to test data to validate your approach. A key part of your day involves collaborating with cross-functional internal and customer teams, producing technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for diverse stakeholders, and representing the team in customer-facing presentations. Prior acoustic analysis experience is not required for this role, though exposure to Finite Element Modeling is preferred.
