City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms, and the whole school, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community.
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. This entry-level, paid, full-time role focuses on coaching and mentoring to help students earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will plan and monitor individual student progress while working closely with teachers on whole-class instruction and in-class assistance. While experience in these tasks is not necessary, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year and work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way. Your day will involve supporting academic coaching, interpersonal development, and whole-school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families.
To apply, visit joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For more information on the application process, visit cityyear.org.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are looking for individuals who want to build themselves, give back, and are ready to change the world. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, seeking candidates from all backgrounds who are ready to make an impact.
