About the Role
The Vernon Township School District is seeking dedicated Academic Support Teachers to join our team in accelerating student growth. In this role, you will serve as a critical partner in our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS/VTSS), delivering targeted, evidence-based interventions in literacy, mathematics, and foundational skills.
You will work within a structured, positive learning environment to support students in small-group and individual settings. Your day will involve analyzing data from universal screeners and diagnostic assessments to identify student needs, set measurable growth goals, and adjust instruction in real-time. By collaborating closely with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, the Child Study Team, and families, you will help ensure a coherent support system that builds student engagement, confidence, and academic identity.
Hiring Process
Candidates must successfully complete a required criminal history background check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. The selection process will prioritize candidates who demonstrate a strong working knowledge of intervention practices and the ability to foster a structured learning environment.
