City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms, and the whole school environment. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community.
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Your service focuses on helping students earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will work closely with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way. While experience in these tasks is not necessary, you will receive 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support your journey. Your day-to-day involves planning and monitoring individual student progress, working with teachers on whole-class instruction, and creating engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces.
To apply, visit joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For more information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are looking for individuals who want to build themselves, give back, and are ready to change the world.
