City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of City Year AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the whole school environment. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their communities.
As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, your service will focus on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle, and/or high school students. You will partner with teachers and school staff to help students earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will not need prior experience in all these tasks, as we provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you. Your day-to-day will involve planning and monitoring individual student progress, working with teachers on whole-class instruction, and creating engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces. You will collaborate with partners to collect and analyze student data, while also supporting whole-school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families through extended day programming, homework support, and leadership development.
To apply, visit joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For more information on the application process, visit cityyear.org.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are looking for individuals who want to build themselves, give back, and are ready to change the world. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who meet the eligibility requirements.
