As a Teacher, you will serve as a vital catalyst for student growth, providing learning activities designed to help students fulfill their potential in intellectual, emotional, physical, and social areas. Your mission is to enable students to develop the competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society. You will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the diverse physical, social, and emotional development of every student.
Your work involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum while reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles. You will present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency and district policies, utilizing appropriate instructional strategies and technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.
Collaboration is central to your role; you will work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), determine instructional goals with staff, and supervise teacher aides and volunteers. You will also manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, maintain open lines of communication with parents and colleagues, and serve as a positive role model. Additionally, you may sponsor extracurricular activities and participate in faculty meetings and staff development to continuously improve your professional skills.
