1st Shift Crew Leader

About the Role

The Crew Leader serves as a vital bridge between management and the production floor, providing strong leadership and team-building support to ensure operational excellence. While this position involves supervising a team, it focuses on guiding, coaching, and assisting crew members rather than direct personnel management. The role is designed for individuals with a robust communication background who can maintain quality standards, drive productivity goals, and foster a culture of safety and operational compliance.

Day in the Life

A typical day involves a dynamic mix of outdoor fieldwork and indoor administrative duties. You will be actively engaged in the physical workflow, including pulling, pushing, loading, and relocating plants, as well as moving inventory by coordinating transfers between departments. A significant portion of the role requires working on scaffolding and navigating various weather conditions, from heat and cold to wet environments and dust.

Beyond the physical demands, you will spend time coaching and training employees, assigning tasks, and verifying quality levels. You will also utilize Microsoft Office 365 for reporting and administrative coordination. The position demands versatility, requiring you to adapt to multiple job situations daily and potentially perform duties across Production, Shipping, or Labor departments.

Hiring Process

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to operate all necessary machinery within the facility, including driving low-speed vehicles, and possess the physical capacity to lift up to 35 pounds repetitively and push or pull carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds. Fluency in English is required for all communication and documentation tasks.
