Row New York is a non-profit organization headquartered in New York, NY, dedicated to empowering New Yorkers of all backgrounds and abilities through the discipline of rowing and comprehensive academic support. Established in 2002, the organization operates on the belief that the values of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline, when combined with educational enrichment, create a strong foundation for future success. The group serves middle and high school student-athletes from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, offering intensive, year-round rowing and academic programs at sites in Queens and Manhattan. Services extend beyond the water to include tutoring, career preparation, and mental health resources, aiming for a 100% high school graduation rate and college readiness for all participants.
The organization also manages an adaptive rowing program designed for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Delivered in both English and Spanish, these tailored workouts foster inclusivity and ensure access to the sport for individuals of all abilities. Looking toward the future, Row New York is developing a state-of-the-art boathouse designed by architect Norman Foster to expand access and opportunity for more New Yorkers.
