About the Role
We are currently seeking a Working Foreman – Forklift Operations to join our team in Emporia, Virginia. This position is designed for a motivated leader who enjoys working alongside their team while taking responsibility for daily operations and project success.
The role combines hands-on forklift operation with crew leadership responsibilities. As the ideal candidate, you will be an experienced forklift operator who can safely and efficiently move materials while coordinating daily activities. You will direct team members, maintain productivity, and ensure all work is completed safely and according to company standards.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between field employees and management. You will lead daily operational activities, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure productivity goals are met. A key part of your day will involve training and mentoring new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and job expectations, as well as conducting pre-shift meetings to communicate daily work plans.
You will also monitor workflow, adjusting manpower and equipment utilization as needed, and perform routine equipment inspections to report maintenance needs promptly. By maintaining accurate records and promoting a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and safety, you will help drive the success of our operations.
