This Warehouse Operative role is dedicated to the safe and efficient stocking and warehousing of raw materials. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the position serves as a critical link between the warehouse and production, interacting daily with Production, Compounding, Maintenance, Scheduling, and management teams across the Plainfield Warehouses.
The core of this position involves ensuring that the production line is supplied with the correct materials at the right time. You will verify all materials against specification sheets, inspect pallets for defects, and ensure applicators are free from contamination before they reach the line. The role requires a high degree of proficiency with the Red Prairie system, RF equipment, and BPCS to accurately record material movements and calculate requirements for efficient floor stocking.
Day-to-day activities include delivering raw materials from staging areas to machine locations, managing changeovers, and handling the return of materials to storage. You will operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and yard tractors, while adhering to strict safety protocols and cGMPs. The role also involves routine maintenance of equipment, such as changing stretch wrap film and batteries, and managing the transport of hazardous chemicals like Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide in compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets and labeling procedures.
Career progression is built into the role through the Msvl Warehouse Operator status system. Associates can achieve Operator 1 status after successfully signing off on two of four key functions (Shipping, Towel Running, Staging, Yard Tractor) and Operator 2 status after completing three. This structure encourages skill development and versatility within the warehouse operations.
Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse positions, specifically with material handling and forklift operation responsibilities. Successful candidates will be expected to consistently pass required forklift testing and safety training as part of the onboarding process.
