We are seeking a VPN Network Engineer to join our client's team in Cary, NC, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and performance of a secure, multi-data center network infrastructure. The engineer will serve as a key technical resource, responsible for the end-to-end configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of IPSEC site-to-site VPNs.
In this position, you will work independently to diagnose complex connectivity issues and implement performance tuning strategies. The role requires close collaboration with internal leadership, project managers, external clients, and vendors to ensure seamless service delivery. You will be expected to author technical documentation, including detailed network diagrams, and ensure all operations adhere to strict compliance standards, including HIPAA and industry best practices.
Candidates selected for this contract role will be expected to demonstrate the ability to work with minimal guidance. The position requires a flexible work schedule, including the availability to perform after-hours changes to support network stability and maintenance windows.

CCNP certification or higher, or equivalent experience. Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches. Experience managing Arista switches.
