Music Kids is an instrumental education program dedicated to enriching student development by bringing musical instrument education into the local school environment. We currently serve thousands of students across over 40 active partner schools in ten states plus the District of Columbia, including DC, MD, IL, MA, NY, CT, and PA.
We are seeking enthusiastic educators to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year as Music Kids Faculty Members. This role is designed for two distinct groups: music teachers looking to expand their horizons and classroom teachers eager to pivot their careers back into music.
As a Faculty Member, you will teach beginning-level violin, piano, and guitar in small group settings (3-4 students) at our partner schools. The position blends in-school teaching and student performances with out-of-school responsibilities, including lesson planning, parent communication, progress reporting, and supporting students through supplementary virtual learning. You will also play a key role in promoting the program and driving enrollment during registration periods.
While the ability to teach violin, guitar, and piano is strongly preferred, it is not required to apply. Comprehensive curriculum resources and assistance are available to help you learn the basics of beginner-level teaching for all three instruments. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on the primary education system while working with a wide range of students, including those as young as 3-5 years old.
Applicants must reside in and be legally qualified to work in the United States and must submit to customary background checks. Selected candidates will be placed on-site at local partner schools to begin their academic year commitment.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about primary education, comfortable working independently, and eager to represent our organization at partner schools. We value flexibility, creativity, and the ability to meet students and parents where they are in terms of interest and commitment. Our team collaborates closely with office staff for administration and professional development, fostering an environment of continuous growth and support.
