The Vice Chair, Clinical Services Anesthesia serves as the senior physician leader at UToledo Health, driving clinical excellence and operational effectiveness across the entire anesthesia service line. This role holds direct accountability for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care within a busy academic health system. The position encompasses the main operating rooms, non-operating room anesthesia (NORA) sites, and other anesthetizing locations.
As the primary liaison between anesthesiology, surgical services, perioperative nursing, and hospital administration, the Vice Chair ensures the seamless integration of clinical operations, quality, and safety. While the role actively supports the academic and educational missions of the department, the core focus remains on clinical leadership and operational stewardship. The successful candidate will foster a collaborative environment that values both clinical excellence and academic contribution, leading a diverse team of faculty anesthesiologists, CRNAs, CAAs, and residents.

Prior role as division director, Vice Chair, Clinical Services Anesthesia, medical director of perioperative services, or equivalent clinical leadership position. Experience leading care-team models involving residents, CRNAs, and CAAs. Track record of successful faculty recruitment and development in an academic setting.
