Truck Fueler

About the Role

The Truck Fueler is a vital part of the Fleet Maintenance team, ensuring that all vehicles returning to the yard are refueled and ready for the next day's operations. Reporting directly to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of vehicles in strict accordance with OSHA, DOT, and local regulations. The position requires a keen eye for detail to track, monitor, and measure fuel dispensed into each unit, maintaining precise nightly records to guarantee timely fueling.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

In this role, you will operate vehicles within the yard while adhering to Athens Services Safety Rules and all federal, state, and local requirements. Your daily routine involves monitoring fuel levels, keeping accurate logs, and immediately reporting any unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, or injuries to the supervisor. You will actively participate in scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings, utilizing standard tools and resources provided by the company to maintain operational efficiency.

Work Environment

This is an outdoor-only position that requires working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, and noise. The role involves continuous standing, walking, and the use of eye/hand coordination, as well as occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. The schedule operates Monday through Thursday from 5:30 pm to 3:30 am, with Sunday shifts from 4:00 am to 2:00 pm, and time off on Fridays and Saturdays.
