About the Role
Truck Driving Companies are hiring an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently across long distances, including multi-state routes near you. This position is essential for ensuring that goods reach their destinations on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Day in the Life
As an OTR driver, you will operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer in strict compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Your day involves extended time on the road, navigating multi-state routes, and adhering to strict safety regulations. You are responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Maintaining accurate electronic logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation is a key part of your daily routine.
You will follow all Hours of Service requirements and safety standards, properly securing cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit. Communication is vital; you will interact regularly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and delivery updates. Additionally, you must promptly report any accidents, traffic incidents, or mechanical issues to ensure operational continuity.
