About the Role
Truck Driving Companies are hiring an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently across long distances, including multi-state routes near you. This position requires extended time on the road, strict adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to meet scheduled delivery deadlines.
Day in the Life
As an OTR driver, you will operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Your daily routine involves performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. You will maintain accurate electronic logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation while properly securing cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit.
Communication is key to your success; you will communicate regularly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and delivery updates. You are also responsible for promptly reporting any accidents, traffic incidents, or mechanical issues.
