Role Overview

Truck driving companies are currently seeking qualified Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Drivers to transport freight safely and efficiently across long distances. This role involves operating on multi-state routes, requiring extended time on the road, strict adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to meet scheduled delivery deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Operation: Operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer in full compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies while transporting freight over long-distance, multi-state routes.

• Safety Inspections: Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.

• Documentation & Logging: Maintain accurate electronic logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation.

• Cargo Security: Properly secure cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit.

• Regulatory Compliance: Follow all Hours of Service (HOS) requirements and safety standards.

• Communication: Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and delivery updates.

• Incident Reporting: Promptly report any accidents, traffic incidents, or mechanical issues.

• Delivery Execution: Ensure all pickups and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Compensation & Earnings

Compensation is typically structured as cents per mile (CPM), a percentage of load, or guaranteed weekly pay. Average annual earnings range from $60,000 to $90,000+, depending on experience, mileage, and route type. Drivers may also receive additional earnings through:
