About the Role
Truck Driving Companies are hiring an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently across long distances, including multi-state routes near you. This position is essential for ensuring that goods reach their destinations on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Day in the Life
As an OTR driver, you will operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer, navigating extended time on the road with strict adherence to safety regulations. Your day begins with thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate electronic logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation, while following all Hours of Service requirements.
A significant part of your role involves properly securing cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit. You will communicate regularly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and delivery updates, ensuring that all pickups and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Additionally, you must promptly report any accidents, traffic incidents, or mechanical issues to maintain operational integrity.
