Job Description
About the Role
Truck Driving Companies are hiring an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently across long distances, including multi-state routes near you. This position is essential for maintaining supply chain continuity, requiring extended time on the road, strict adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to meet scheduled delivery deadlines.
As an OTR driver, you will operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Your role involves navigating long-distance, multi-state routes while ensuring all pickups and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will serve as the primary link between the warehouse and the customer, communicating regularly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and delivery updates.
Day in the Life
Your day begins with thorough vehicle inspections. You are responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. This includes maintaining accurate electronic logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation to meet regulatory standards.
During transit, you must follow all Hours of Service requirements and safety standards. A key part of your responsibility is properly securing cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit. You will also be expected to promptly report any accidents, traffic incidents, or mechanical issues to dispatch.
Why Join Us
We offer a compensation structure designed to reward your performance and mileage. Earnings are typically structured as cents per mile (CPM), percentage of load, or guaranteed weekly pay, with average annual earnings ranging from $60,000 to $90,000+ depending on experience, mileage, and route type. Additionally, drivers may receive additional earnings through detention pay, layover pay, safety bonuses, and performance incentives.
