About the Role
This is a full-time, year-round position for a Truck Driver responsible for driving Class A equipment on local routes. You will make deliveries from distribution centers to Meijer stores on time within established guidelines and pick up backhauls at various vendors to deliver them to distribution centers in a timely fashion. Yard switching (trailer movement on complex) may be required on an as-needed basis.
In this role, you will be expected to be responsible and professional at all times. The position offers scheduling flexibility and the opportunity to go home every day.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be able to pass a road test conducted by Meijer Private Fleet management, which consists of several factors and is twenty miles in length. Additionally, applicants must pass a DOT driver physical and a DOT pre-employment drug test. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the Michigan Secretary of State (not more than thirty days old) must be presented to the interviewer.
