About the Position
TravelNurseSource is partnering with Magnet Medical to find a qualified Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Philadelphia, PA. This role is designed for a skilled professional ready to provide comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The position offers the opportunity to manage both routine and high-risk pregnancies while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, midwives, and anesthesiologists to ensure safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns.

- check_circlePerform non-stress tests and monitor fetal heart tones and uterine activity
- check_circleMonitor postpartum recovery of mothers and newborns including bleeding and uterine tone
- check_circleProvide breastfeeding support and educate families on newborn care and self-care
- check_circleDocument all assessments, interventions, and patient progress in electronic health records
- check_circleRecognize obstetric emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions or escalate care
- check_circleAdvocate for patient preferences and ensure informed consent for medical procedures
- check_circleCollaborate with healthcare teams to plan and implement individualized patient care
- check_circlePerform neonatal resuscitation and conduct initial newborn health assessments
- check_circleAssist obstetricians during vaginal and cesarean deliveries and maintain sterile fields
- check_circleAssess and monitor pregnant women's health, vital signs, and labor progression
- check_circleAdminister medications like epidurals and Pitocin while monitoring patient response
