This 13-week contract places a Registered Nurse in the S44 Transplant Intensive Care Unit at a local facility in Washington, DC. The role is critical for managing complex post-transplant patients, including liver, kidney, pancreas, and multivisceral recipients, as well as patients with end-stage liver and renal disease. The unit also serves as overflow for neurosurgery and medical intensive care, handling cases ranging from traumatic brain injuries to sepsis and multisystem organ failure.
You will work a night shift schedule (3 days x 12 hours, 19:00–07:30) caring for a patient ratio of 2. The environment is interdisciplinary, supported by IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. While the role requires floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity, there is no on-call requirement. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and protocols, including external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia management.
Candidates must submit a complete profile including proof of licensure status. For DC locations, a DC RN license is required in hand prior to the start date, though some units may accept a pending license with a later start date. Local candidates (within a 60-mile radius) are accepted at a lower rate and must provide a driver's license matching their address.
The submission process includes providing two supervisory references and confirming at least two years of recent experience. All submittals undergo a clinical review by our team. Please note that manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be prepared to proceed with the offer process without an interview. Once hired, you must complete facility-specific Sitel compliance modules within one week and schedule labs and DS appointments within 48 hours to avoid contract cancellation.
Prime Staffing is dedicated to finding the perfect fit for every placement. We value transparency and support, ensuring that our workforce has access to competitive contracts and that our clients receive the highest quality care. We adhere to strict compliance standards, including flu vaccination requirements and specific clinical exams for certain specialties, to maintain the highest standards of patient safety and care quality.
