About the Role
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a CV Surgery ICU position in Rochester, MN. This role is designed for a nurse ready to provide highly specialized adult cardiac surgery and heart/lung transplant ICU care, focusing on advanced postoperative management.
In this position, you will coordinate nursing care including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions. You will function within a professional nursing practice model encompassing planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care. The role offers opportunities to serve in preceptor and informal leadership roles while contributing to quality improvement efforts. Charting is performed in Epic, and floating is required as needed.
Assignment Details
This is a 14-week travel assignment (subject to facility confirmation) starting June 29, 2026. The schedule consists of 36 hours per week, typically structured as three 12-hour shifts. While a Day/Night rotation is available, straight night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) are also an option. Please note that every third weekend is required, and the facility may cancel up to three shifts due to low census over the course of the assignment. Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, though a break is required before returning to a new assignment.
Application & Eligibility
To be considered for this position, candidates must have at least 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience and prior travel nursing experience (1 year or a minimum of 3 completed travel assignments). First-time travelers are not eligible for this position. Candidates must provide their date of birth for consideration and hold an active Minnesota RN license. All certifications must be current and not expire within 3 months of the start date.
